Best Calzones

I did some preliminary searching on this topic and found some good scattered knowledge (Coalfire appears to have a very good and very reasonably priced calzone) but nothing centralized. So, I put it to you LTH, where should I go for the best calzones in the city?

I may be alone in this but I really like the Spinach Calabrese at Aurelio's.

I'll be trying the calzone at Cafe Luigi's later tonight since I have a craving and I will report back.

Not sure this can be considered a 'traditional' Calzone, but the wife and I ate at Pockets at least once a week when we lived out there... My favorite was the 'BBC w/Peperoni' and a side of ranch. Mmmm...

It's a good thing we left the 'food-mecca of the world' in my late 20s. I can't even imagine what my cholesterol would be if we still lived in Chicago... Now that would be an amusing poll! 'As an LTH member, what was your most recent cholesterol score?' I'd wager that LTH clobbers any other foodie site in world.

I think the calzones at Coalfire are about as good as you can get here. My excitement for them is only dampened by the inability to obtain one with sausage (when I asked why, I was told that their sausage is raw, and that it would not cook sufficiently inside the calzone)...oh, and the fact that they are not deep-fried.

Duh, tell them to cook the sausage first, then put it in the calzone.

I hate it when some places deep fry the zone. I always check now, baked only for me.

The Spinach Calabrese from Aurelio's is INCREDIBLE....the ONLY way I will eat spinach!!!!
