Need dinner recommendation help please!

I am trying to plan dinner for Tuesday night for a friend I haven't seen in 10 yrs (flying in from Sweden), my parents (in their 60s), my husband and my 3 yr old. Here are some ideas I had:

Bistro Campagne
Carnivale
Sepia (i've not been here, but have been intrigued. i've been to the other two above)

I was hoping to impress my friend with a place that was unique and had good food. Don't want to do steakhouses or deep-dish pizza or Asian. For my 3 yr old, we need relatively fast service and a place where people won't be bothered by him. He's pretty good at restaurants, but you can't always count on a 3 yr old! I was hoping to eat outside, but it looks like Tuesday there will be rain. Any other ideas?
