Some friends and I have subscribed to the Writers' Theatre season and are wondering about dining options in the area. The only "dining partner" the theatre mentions is Michael's which I am sure we'll try, but we'll be attending four plays including one matinee so we are looking for a variety of options, including a brunch.

Again it would help to know which way you're driving, but Prairie Grass is close enough.

Abigail's in downtown Ravinia is just about 10 minutes away.

Michael's in Winnetka is good for somewhat upscale French.
Prairie Grass is probably the closest and gets raves, particulary for brunch.
Francesco's Hole in the Wall is supposed to be the best local place for Italian, but they don't take reservations, so timing could be a problem.
In Winnteka, O'Neil's on Green Bay road is quite popluar, although my meal or two there were entirely forgettable.
Avli Estatorio, a relatively new Greek restraurant in Winnteka is excellent and should definitely be on your list.
For a very casual meal, Mizrahi Grill in Highland Park is well situated and serves very good Israeli food.

Hope this helps. The theater is great by Glencoe itself (my town) isn't much on dining options.

We enjoyed our dinner a year ago at Jerry's Restaurant, in Winnetka.

We'll be coming from the north side of Chicago -- depending on whose turn it is to drive, last pickup will be in Ravenswood or Avondale.

Wasn't Terragusto supposed to open a branch in downtown Glencoe?

Terragusto was supposed to open in Glencoe, but there has been no sign of this actually happening.
