Szechwan Restaurant, St. Charles, IL

We just came from having lunch. We had the buffet which ran us almost $90 for three adults, an eleven year old, a 2 year old and an 11 month old. $90.00!! We were charged 13.95 for the 11 yo girl and 7.00 for the 2 year old child (who, by the way, we picked up nuggets for).They then had the audacity to tack on a 13.00 charge for a table of 6 or more, even though 2 were in high chairs. I was amazed at an 18% 'tip' added on for a buffet.

We ordered a glass of milk for the baby, we were informed they ran out of milk a few days ago. I asked what kind of juice they have (full bar here) and was told they don't have any juice. The waiter asked what kind of soup we wanted, but never delivered any soup. Nor did we see him after asking about the milk/juice. The service was horrid. The waiter could not have been any more disinterested in his job. And to top it off we were only one of two tables in the restaurant. But I can certainly understand why there weren't more people there

That being said, the food was fine. I would have prefered more attention being paid to keeping the dishes full on the buffet.

However, I will never, ever eat here again due to the obvious ripping off of their customers. The woman at the front was totally emphatic that the charges were correct, move on.

I haven't eaten there in years. It used to be decent but it was also the only Chinese place in town way back besides the horrid Gen Hoe in Geneva. My work group would go there now and then for lunch, maybe 1992? There is another Chinese buffet on the west side of St Charles in the strip where Grimm's Pharmacy is, again only went once many years ago and didn't like it. Not many Chinese places in the Tri-Cities, buffet or not.
