Empanada truck? Anyone been?

I saw on twitter that the new 5411 Empanada truck was parked near my office and so I walked over to see what they had and I was surprised to see about 60 people in line. Empanadas are $1.99 I think and come in several flavors, like BBQ Chicken and Carmelized Onion and Sweet Corn.

I can't wait to try it, but could not wait in that line today.

Has anyone been? Is it worth waiting in line for 20 minutes?

UPDATE: I could see the line from a window at my office and when the line was down to 10 people or so I went down there and, sadly, they were sold out. But the descriptions from the web site make it sound pretty good:

I visited the truck earlier this month and waited about 30 min. My friend and I made the mistake of ordering only 2 each, so I would recommend at least 3, if not 4 for a full lunch.

We split each of our 4 empanadas so we could taste a sample of each. We ordered the beef, sweet onion, spinach and ham, and that is probably the order in which I liked them. I am no empanada expert: IMHO I liked the pastry shell in that it was light and flaky, but the fillings left a little something to be desired.

I'll give them another shot when the weather warms up, but I don't want to wait more than 10 min, so I might just stake out a spot in line before the truck arrives.

Thanks. That's good info. That was my impression of the Gaztro Wagon: I waited a long time with a bunch of fans and the flavors were underwhelming. However, as you also said, I only gave them one try.

For me the MeatyBalls Thai'd Balls sandwich is the best thing I have had off a truck - and the truffle dusted chops to go with it.

I went with some people from work, and we planned ahead and got there early.
I got chicken, beef, onion, and corn. I liked the onion/cheese one best, then the corn one. The beef was my least fave, not a lot of flavor and there were hardboiled egg pieces inside, which I know are traditional but I dislike. They were testing two sauces, chimichurri and hot sauce. Loved the chimichurri.

Sounds like they have made some changes in just under a month! We did not have any egg pieces in our beef empanada, and it was probably the most flavorful of our four. I also think that the empanadas would benefit from having sauces on the side since I found the filling kind of blah.

Went to the 5411 Empanada Truck. Got a Corn Empanada and Carmelized Onion Empanada and my colleague got a BBQ Chicken Empanada, which I tasted.

They are a very well put together operation. The presentation, from a truck, is nice. The Corn Empanada was ok, a little bland (didn't taste the nutmeg they said was there) but the Carmelized Onion Empanada was, I thought, great. The well carmelized onions, had a lot of flavor - were sweet, and parmesan cheese behind. I thought it was rich and delicious.

I tasted one bite of my friends BBQ Chicken Empanada and it was ok. Like someone else here said, like California Pizza Kitchen.....

They also threw in some mild chimichurri sauce, which I thought didn't really go well with the general sweet flavors of all the empanadas I tasted. Overall I like it and would try the beef and the ham and cheese empanada, and definitely get the Carmelized Onion one again.
