All -
Had an exceptionally good vegetarian (they do have non-vegetarian options, these just looked great to us) lunch at Avocado today and came home and searched to find nobody had reviewed yet on here.
Started with the brown lentil soup which was nice with some cilantro and “rooster sauce" (sricha - sp?). Been eating the lentil soup from Sultan’s a bit lately so this was a nice change of pace. Chunkier and still light.
Then split these two (pulled from their menu):
The Not So Token Portabella Poboy
Marinated, breaded, and baked Portabella strips. Is topped with roasted tomatoes and bell peppers,
crisp red onions, arugala, shredded carrots, garlic vegan mayo, a smear of our four cheese dip and our balsamic glaze.
Served on toasted baguette. (can be made vegan!)
The Eggplant Poboy (V):
Marinated, breaded, and baked eggplant steak is layered with basil, Edamame and Avocado Spread, tomato,
red onions, arugala, garlic vegan mayo, and Rooster sauce. Served on toasted baguette
Both were very well constructed and had tons of flavor. Great bread. I would eat both again and actually am still thinking about them right now.
For a couple of work from home people that tend to see more meat centered lunches this was a great option to put in the rotation. I realize there are a ton of good places in that area (Irazu, Belly Shack, Silom 12, etc...) but Avocado deserves a visit!
Enjoy!
