Hi all,
I did a search and didn't find anything about this restaurant so, I thought I'd make a first post.
This place used to be the Elk Grove location of the Salt Creek BBQ, which I never found to be that good. Anyway, a co-worker suggested we go there today for lunch and described it as good as Sweet Baby Ray's but cheaper. After eating there today, I'd have to agree (though it's not that much less).
I had the pulled pork bbq sandwich, which comes with fries for $6.95 and a large drink ($1.95). This came out to just under $10. The pork was great; not very fatty with a good consistency and chew. The sauce was about medium. Someone on Yelp said they have other sauces but since it was my first visit, I thought I'd try the norm.
The website says "The secret behind this restaurant has been the chef, now owner, who has been at this location since 1998" so I'm guessing the chef tweaked the old SCB recipe some after buying it b/c I thought this food was much better.
Anyway, I'll be going here more often. I hope you enjoy and look forward to reading about your visits!
