I've been to L&E for brunch and dinner several times. Brunch should not disappoint. It is much less "breakfasty" than most other brunch places and contains many dinner small plates/apps. For instance, on Saturday we started with the potted smoked pork rillettes. The chicken and waffles are incredible, and this last time I tried the head-prawns and grits; most intense shrimp flavor I've ever experienced.
I would suggest holding out on an L&E dinner until you can go with a group of 4 or more. Why? Buying/sampling power. The dinner appeal for me is walking away from having tried 7-10 impressive dishes without feeling like I broke the bank.
