I've been eating here for well over 2 years now. Everytime I go, I always say that I'm going to post something on here but I'm too hungry to take pics....Anyway this place needs more love on LTH. It is truely a neighborhood taqueria that does great mexican food. I recently added another section to the dining area that added about 4 more tables. (Which it needed, esp on weekends.) They also added Rotisserie style chicken to the menu. They are open 24 hrs on weekends and have Menudo then, which you can buy to take home. They have classic fare including tacos Barbacoa, Al Pastor, Lengua, Cecina, Cabeza, Pollo, Alambres.... all are very good. Like many taquerias, the portions are great compaired to prices....
I must mention that the only thing that falls flat are the chips on the table. The salsa is homemade and delicious but the actual chips are always cold and sometimes stale. Usually not a good sign, I know but the food will make up for it. my constant favorites are the Coctel de Camerones for $6.95 or the Caldo de Camerones for $8.95. (all the caldos are awsome!) The beans are made with manteca too! (was told by the server but you really can taste it!) A breakfast menu is served all day long as well.
Service is very accomadating and friendly though all 3 of them (lol) speak broken english. You can get by by pointing at most things...
Seriously had to post something and strongly advise you that if you are in the area to check it out. It is in an area that has many mexican restaurants but this one is by far the best (just don't miss it as it comes up fast on busy Lake street and it is tucked away in a strip mall)
This picture is from my latest meal there. Pictured is Caldo de Camerones and Huevos con Jamon. (Also the homemade green salsa is bomb)
