It's life was brief; it was a tiny storefront on the east side of Broadway, a bit south of Belmont, I'd say between Belmont and Barry, but before Wellington. Time period was maybe late 80s-early 90s. Possibly where Buena Vista is now, or at least nearby and similar size.
I think it had a simple descriptive name like, Casa di Pesce, or something. Run by 2 brothers who were not, I think, Italian, but maybe Moroccan or something. But had learned to cook Italian. All the cooking was done just behind a chest-high counter at the back on a pretty small stove. You could hear it and smell it every time a splash of wine or fistful of herbs hit a hot pan. Very basic, very homey pastas, etc.
Honestly don't remember much about the fish. They did a great job with fresh perfectly tender but toothsome broccoli in white wine and garlic. It was cheap, quick, simple, honest food that reminded me of a European city.
    Anybody?
"Strange how potent cheap music is."
