Chinese take out food hyde park

Since moving to Hyde Park a few years back, I have yet to find good Chinese takeout. I'm in walking distance from Nicky's, Wok-n-Roll, and Fung's. They all kinda suck. The food from these places has leftover, gummy feel, not prepared to order. The fried rice served at these places is flavorless and lumpy.

The easy answer is to drive the few miles down to 22nd street, but I do not have a car.

Im looking for suggestions for good Chinese takeout near 53rd and Lake Park. Thanks in advance.

When I was living in Hyde Park, the easy answer was indeed to drive the few miles to Chinatown. I used to do it every week. Friends who didn't have a car and wanted good Chinese food would take the bus to the red line stop at 55th, and take the train to Chinatown. I'm afraid that's going to be the best option for someone without a car - friends who still live and/or work in Hyde Park tell me the Chinese food situation has not improved since I was last there.

"Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown" (or bust).

Some think De Rice makes the best Chinese food in Hyde Park (even though it's not in Hyde Park). If you haven't eliminated it from consideration already, you might want to see if their food is less gummy, their fried rice less lumpy.

Now is probably the time to take advantage of relatively easy access to Chinatown by CTA, before the shut down of the Red Line next Spring and Summer.

Sweet Station in chinatown delivers to Hyde Park. They have a huge menu (including some fun stuff) and you can even order online.

Although I wish Lao Schezuan was the China Town restaurant delivering to Hyde Park, this is still a big deal and very exciting. I've only had their food one time but it was solid and not gloopy.
