This afternoon I took myself back to TAC Quick again - today's my birthday, I wanted a treat for my lunch today.
I had the Som Tom and a pork curry with baby thai eggplants over omlette.
Again, the waitress (different one) was friendly and gladly gave me the Thai menu when I requested it, as I ate there was a table of three thai's and one other person who entered and order off the American menu (got the lunch special which is a deal, if not very challenging in terms of cuisine).
The Som Tom was spicy, full of dried shrimp, and very flavorful - quite nice, and on a bed of limes which gave a nice counterpoint flavor when I reached them.
The pork curry was extremely good - the baby eggplants, no usually one of my favorite vegetables due to the "slimy" texture - had instead a crisp and fresh flavor - prehaps it is a characteristic of the variety and the size, but they were quite tasty. The omlette and pork counteracted very pleasantly.
All in all, TAC Quick is rapidly becoming my new favorite Thai place - I have not yet had a bad dish there, and everything I've eaten there (takeout/delivery is a slightly different picture) has been extremely good, flavorful, complex and rich.
