DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT FROM NEW YORK AND DONT CLAIM TO BE A CONNOISSEUR OF NYC STYLE PIZZA

But that said, I had what I found to be a fantastic example of of it this afternoon from the River North location of NYC Bagel Deli. I've long thought their bagels/cream cheese to be the most NY-esque (and absolutely the best) in Chicago but the pizza really was fantastic. Similar to Jimmy's, but definitely more chew. Apparently, they serve it at the River North location only.

Apparently they have a location at the Ogilvie Food Court as well (500 W. Madison)

Well, I may give this a shot as I like this style of pizza. Problem is, I have never had this style (as opposed to NY Neapolitan) of NY pizza that I LOVE. It's usually the sauce that lets me down. For instance, I like Jimmy's a lot, but the sauce keeps me from totally loving it. I have yet to go to New York to try it from the source, so I don't have anything to compare it to. I do remember having excellent NY pizza in Madiera Beach, Florida at a place called DeLosa's Authetic Pizza, so maybe I have had it where it was great  .

    Ram4,
The sauce is boss at Dante's. Give it a shot if you haven't. Best to get a whole pie.

If I find myself in the area, I'll definitely try NYC Bagels version. I also think they have the best NY bagels in town.

Yes, they are in Ogilvie... they took over the spot where Sbarro used to be. Is definitely an upgrade from Sbarro when I want pizza for lunch and don't have the time to go outside or don't want to deal with the weather (like when it was 100+ last week). Have never had true New York pizza so I cannot vouch for any authenticity, but it's tasty enough. They have the standard pizzas like cheese, pepperoni, sausage, plus a white pizza and some gourmet slices like carne asada, BBQ chicken, Thai chicken, etc.
