I searched but could not find any references to Indie Burger other than the Openings, Closing thread. Feel free to move this post if there is already a thread for Indie Burger.

I went there today for lunch with some colleagues and had a really excellent burger. Their theme is all grass fed beef, all organic and locally sourced to the extent possible. I had a hamburger with fried egg and bacon. The buns are from Bleeding Heart West Town and were very light and fluffy. The bacon was interesting, because it was beef bacon - actually made from beef belly. I was not aware that this was even a thing, but it ended up being pretty tasty. The beef patty itself was excellent - juicy and very beefy tasting. My one quibble is that my fried egg was over-cooked and not runny at all. Other than that, a great burger.

Fries are fresh cut and cooked well done (similar to the old style fries at Edzo's). I actually prefer them this style, but some of my dining companions thought they were on the burnt side. The onion rings were outstanding - some of the best I have had in a while.

Price was $6.95 for the burger, extra for the egg and bacon.

Full disclosure: my boss is friends with one of the owners of this place, and he (the owner) gave us a quick talk during our meal about the restaurant and their menu. We paid full price for all the food.

i also love indie burger and have started going here instead of DMK. They do a great smashed patty style that cooks up with very crisp, well-seasoned edges, contrasting nicely on their soft organic bun. Their burger with blue cheese and raw onion is excellent and I love that I can get such a great and reasonably priced burger that's also organic. Cool dining room yet family friendly -- every item on the menu is organic, including fries, onion rings, sweet potato chips, sodas, shakes, etc.

Their onion rings have gotten quite a bit of a press in local media although an entire order is a bit much for me. The sweet potato chips are fantastic too. Their buns have changed recently and no longer come from West Town bakery though. But this is a very satisfying burger in a city with really good burgers -- even if I weren't looking for organic, it's among the best in the city. I wish they'd jazz up their salads as I miss DMK's though.....

Haven't browsed the board for a long time but I was pretty surprised to see no comment on IB at all!?
