For vegetarian friendly restaurants in the western suburbs, what would you recommend? My vegetarian friend will be coming from Aurora. Some restaurant near the Naperville/Lisle/Wheaton area would be good. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I will be dining with 5 non-vegetarians and 1 vegetarian.

I was also wondering if anyone has had any experience dining at Lao Sze Chuan in Downers Grove in the last couple of months. I read on Yelp that the chef changed recently.

they claim to have vegan substitutions. Also Naf Naf would please a vegetarian, they are in Naperville. Not very dinner like though.

The Ivy has a few vegetarian choices like butternut squash ravioli, etc. I think one could eat well there.

Also Macaroni grill you can get pick your own pasta with pesto or plain marinara sauce. Or fettucine alfredo. Of course it all depends if your friend is vegan or eats fish or eggs.

I think any of these places would have something for everyone.

My partner is vegetarian and we dine sometimes with a vegan friend, no problems eating just about anywhere in the Naperville, Aurora, Oakbrook area. Reza'a in Oakbrook is a good one, Basil's Greek by the Fox Valley Mall, anyplace Asian will all work.
