Has anyone been to Woo Lae Oak in Rolling Meadows?
I've been to the one in LA, and it was bland, boring and uninspired, and the one in the Washington DC area twice, and it was exciting, great service (by a scowling waitress), more condiments and "small dishes."

I just ate at the one in DC with a group of Koreans from my new employer, and that may have helped the service, but the previous time I was there I remember it just as good. Grilled dishes (gal bi, bul go gi), are served with lettuce and a spicy bean paste, Chop Chae was very tasty, a wonderful sauteed shiitake mushroom dish, plus a seafood soup that I can't remember the name of.

So how's the one around here? How does it compare to the other Korean places on Lincoln or along Milwaukee in Glenview and Niles (Seoul Garden, Daori, etc.)?

I've been to the one out on Arlington Road (??) about a year ago with Korean clients--one gringo (me), four clients. Gas grill (not charcoal), non---challenging food. Nothing bad, nothing notable. Good soju selection, however.
Chicago is my spiritual chow home
