I wasn't sure if I should share this new find in Stone Park in an ongoing Chicken Wings thread or a Fried Shrimp one so instead I'll just give it it's own. Located in a small strip mall you might not think twice about this place unless maybe the name catches your eye. It did mine as they had the "coming soon" sign up for a while.

I stopped in for an early lunch around 11a after being up all morning and hungry so I was told to give them a little time as they were just getting the fryers going. Fine by me. I'm all for making sure the fryers are up to temp before serving soggy shrimp. The lady working the front was really nice and told me how their homemade soups have been a big hit around that way with all the locals and people that work around the area. I didn't try any but nice to know for the future. I opted for a 1/2 lb of jumbo shrimp and a 5 piece wings.

They did an excellent fry job with both the shrimp and wings. Shrimp had a pretty crunchy medium battered exterior while managing to not dry out on the inside. I didn't think to ask if they were Gulf Shrimp but the flavor of them was there. The wings are cheaper (5 for $3.25) and better than most every bar in the city that has a weekly wing special. Though they dont unseat Toons at the top they're as good as most others I can remember. They offer variety of sauce options in-house that I look forward to trying the next time I "shwing on over". Other seafood options include catfish and cod and they also do boneless strips made to order. They have fresh cut fries as well as daily specials and stay open late Thursday-Saturday. Good stuff.

I had gone a few weeks ago and forgot to write up a post.

she was pushing the soups on the few folks that work locally, they all seemed to say the soups were a hit.

Shrimp was good but not great (not worth going out of one's way for), I thought wings were very weak. I won't go back for either of these items but that soup had me curious enough that I will try the soup at some point.
I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

I've had some weak wings over the years, the ones I was served seen in the picture weren't that. They were perfect sized (No former baseball playing chickens from the 90's for me please) and fried just right to where there was no resistance. The jumbo shrimp reminded me of Snappy's which is one of my favorites. There's not any I would drive out of the way for but that's because there's a good spot in most areas. Not destination dining but a nice option if you're near there.

Same thought here. If only it had been opened in Berwyn as a monument to the now-decommissioned car spindle...
