Quick Question Regarding Pizza near Chicago

I remember reading about a very well known local pizza place somewhere outside but not far from Chicago. It is in a house or something like that, run by a guy people often name, and people seem to rave about it. I'm looking to take a day trip today but, doing a search, can't come upon the name and location of the place right now. It has been discussed a lot here on this forum.

Can anyone help me out?

If it's Burt's review the menu and call them first if my memory is correct.

Burt's. Make sure you call before you arrive. People who show up without calling first are frequently turned away.

I also think Burt's is what you were thinking of. I can't emphasize enough to call first.

Yes, do call ahead, and be prepared to give your full food order when you call. The order acts as your reservation. Without the order there is no reservation. IIRC, the early part of this evening is pretty fully booked, but you might be able to get a table later in the evening, say 7:30-8:00.

EDIT: WTTW Prime just ran Burt's "Check Please" episode again this weekend, resulting in even heavier than normal bookings.

Quite a coincidence, I happened to call earlier and got a spot for this evening as well.

Thanks everyone. Yes, it was Burt's I was trying to remember. We didn't go because we were looking for a lunch trip outside central Chicago and I don't think they open until 4:30 but now...when I do go (which will be soon)...I will know to call first!
