I think this place, on Wrightwood just west of Clark, is special. The other day I had a bowl of soup and a sandwich, both of which were outstanding. The soup was a lentil soup with a nice hint of spice to it; the sandwich a ham and provolone with an interesting mayonnaise on fantastic fresh-baked-tasting bread. It was one of those deals where it comes and you say, "Oh my God, I can't finish that," and then you start eating it and because it's so outstanding you don't stop eating it and lo and behold it's gone.
The place was formerly Lincoln Perk; that hanging sign still marks it, but the new business' name is painted on the window. Owner/chef is Laura Lucarelli, who knows her food.
