Florida stone crab in the western suburbs

I just checked the website menus for the most likely places - Parker's in Downers Grove, Shaw's Crab House in Schaumburg, Reel Club in Oak Brook, and Hugo's Frog Bar in Naperville - and none of them show stone crabs, although all have various other types of crab. You could phone those places and ask to see if they have stone crabs as a daily special, but my guess is that they're just not all that common. If you insist on stone crabs, you may need to drive downtown where you can get them at Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab. (FWIW, the stone crab season runs October through May.)
