Bites is a new restaurant in the Lakeview area (Clark street a few blocks south of Wrigley Field). Ever since Socca shuttered I have been trying to find a restaurant nearby to my condo as a neighborhood favorite; so far Bites is the only venue I have found that might fill the void. The staff and owners here are so warm and friendly and the space is nice and comfortable. I really enjoy the menu (Asian fusion tapas style) and while the food certainly is not on the same level as Chicago's best Asian fusion venues, it is definitely the best in the neighborhood, generally very tasty and a solid value. If you live in or near Lakeview or are in the area and seeking a place for dinner, Bites is well worth checking out. Dishes I recommend include the Crying Amigo Tacos (rib-eye), Pig in the Garden (lettuce wraps), Avocado Tempura, Duck or Pork buns and Pretty in Pink (noodle dish) and when brunch restarts the pulled pork waffles.
