Hi- Somebody over on Jill Cataldo's site is celebrating her 15th wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day. She is maybe thinking about going to see the play Nunsense at Pheasant Run. Are there any good not super expensive restaurants in the area that you would recommend? I just did a search, and did not come up with much. Is there any place over at Pheasant Run anybody would recommend? I am not familiar with that area at all. Thanks, Nancy

Niche is a wonderful restaurant, not too far away in Geneva, 14 South Third Street. If the weather is anything like this, we have found the restaurant in the hotel, Harvest, to be just fine for a lazy choice!

Immediately to the west is your typical suburban chain cluster: Olive Garden, TGIFriday's, Portillo's, Giordano's, On the Border. Places I don't eat at, if I have a choice of a mom-n-pop.

When we were last out that way we tried Poblano Pepper Grill in the same strip as Giordano's. It wasn't awesome , but it was homey and tasty.

We've enjoyed our few stops at McNally's Pub in downtown St. Charles. It's not uppity fancy, but I've always been happy with what was brought to the table.
