Hoppin Hots - Elevated hot dogs in Andersonville

I finally made it to Hoppin Hots, a newish hot dog place in Andersonville (in the spot formerly occupied by Great Lake Pizza). They have about 11 regular dogs on the menu, plus specials. I had the Ooh-La-La-Hot, which includes duck confit, lavender-fennel aioli, goat cheese, & house-pickled celery. I loved it. The dog itself was great and the bun was perhaps the best hot dog bun I've had. I'd guess it was a semolina bread.

Hmmm...did you happen to see the owner of the joint? He wears dark sunglasses, and sports a mustache...think he goes by the name of Soug Dohn.

that sucks. Unfortunately we only went a couple times, too long ago. Recently we mentioned we should go again - probably the day they were closing. They have great yelp reviews - I guess they just didn't make enough money to stay open. It was good when we went.
