It's far more important to be accurate than early with your information. The best course of action may be to make a phone call to the establishment before posting anything. But whatever you do, make sure you are 100% correct before posting about a closing on this thread or any other in these forums.

A trio of restaurateurs is partnering to open a new Andersonville restaurant named Summerdale in the former Marigold Restaurant.

Having grown up on Summerdale...well, I guess I'm going to have to check it out once it opens.

Westminster Dogs @ 11 N Wells is gone

Taking its place will be CBA Steamwiches. The listed website of 'eatcba.com' goes to Chicago Bagel Works that has 2 locations on the north side (presently) and an 'opening soon' for this one.....

Don't see much in the way of reviews on here - but a quality place with a menu like theirs would be a truly welcome addition to the area. Here's hoping!

Was in the basement of Richland Center and saw a new dumpling place opening today called Quin Xiang Yuan. They weren't ready yet so we talked. They're boiled not steamed, but was told all but a couple have soup inside. I asked about the 20 folds of a xiao long bao but she didn't understand. She's from Northern China by way of Montreal where here cousin taught her to make them. Will have to go back and check it out. For what it's worth, they're doing some sushi there as well.

CBA is great, I'm a huge fan. Have been since the days of Bagel & Deli in Oxford, OH which it is based on. I am excited about the downtown location. The only drawback is since they steam the sandwiches, it does take a little longer, so it will be interesting to see how that plays out during the lunch rush in the loop. The email they sent did say the menu would be paired down from their other locations, but seeing as there are probably 60+ sandwiches there, it makes sense for a smaller operation.

There's actually another drawback, the less-than-appetizing urine stench from the adjacent alley. If anything can kill your appetite, that can.

Since this location technically is located on Clark Street where many food trucks park (125 South Clark), I wonder if that will impact the food truck parking there (which has become quite a hub for trucks).

Didn't see this posted anywhere here, but Paris based Gelato shop Amorino is coming to the Gold Coast this winter. It'll be at State & Chestnut where Johnny's Grill once was. The only city in the US they're in right now is NYC - one in Chelsea and another in Greenwich Village. My friend in NYC says their gelato is actually good and since I'm in NYC every week, I plan on trying some soon.

Right now they're in France, Luxembourg, Belgium, England, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Malta, and a few of the overseas French properties. Out of the 107 stores around the world, over 75% of them are in France and Spain alone.

BIG Three Happiness has closed, or more accurately is "Closed for Remodeling", but the phone is disconnected and there's no sign of life on the inside along with a lein on the door from the owner of the ice machine. It's nice to see that our namesake restaurant outlasted its much bigger and much worser (is that a word) neighbor across the street.

To be clear, Little Three Happiness is still open as usual.

Looks like new signs of life at the former Baked Tomato space in Irving Park/Mayfair. The windows are still papered over but a new awning and new sign have gone up for Almaida, an "Indian Mediterranean" restaurant -- by which I'm guessing they intend to offer both of these distinct cuisines to give it broad appeal to the multi-ethnic congregation of the neighboring mosque. Though who knows, maybe it's actually a bold fusion concept...

Lou malnati's finally broke ground for their new restaurant in Lincoln Square, the old Golden Angel location 4340 N. Lincoln av.
Can't wait for it as I work blocks from it.

I may have missed the announcement about this but I was walking home last night and saw signs for La Colombe in the window at the empty health products store on the corner of Foster and Clark in A-ville. I literally jumped for joy. A two-fer of their coffee and a visit to the Middle Eastern Bakery across the street fills me with anticipation.

Take that, Starbucks!

Stopped into Honey 1 BBQ for lunch today and saw a sign announcing that they're opening in Bronzeville this fall. Verified on the way out it's a second location, and they're not moving from the Western location...

Kickass! Another lunch option for me!

Six Corners Bistro opened in guess where? Six Corners on the NW Side of Chicago. 3930 N Cicero Ave. Has been three years in the making. Had their soft opening a couple of nights ago. Right now it's just dinner, soon to be breakfast, lunch and dinner. Right now it's 4pm-9pm M-Thur, and til 10pm on weekends, subject to change soon. BYOB for right now, liquor license is on it's way. Chef prepared food in an open kitchen corner storefront.

The end of an era - well, several eras, really. Ed & Erv's Centrella Market in Rogers Park closing 11/1 after 67 (!) years.

I only went to Ed & Erv's a few times and loved the charm. They did a great job one year when I bought the meat there for our New Year's day chili.

High-Hat has taken the place of Katerina's. Tribune Article on it. Looks to be focused more on music than food, but they do have a menu. Sign in the window refers to it as Creole-Italian. What could go wrong?

There is a Blaze Pizza building out at 24 S. Clinton.

I was interested as I walked by this AM but now I see it's a franchise.

I've been to the one on Belmont. They do fixed-price Subway-style smaller pizzas where you can choose any number of toppings and then they quick fire it in the oven, so it's ready in just a couple minutes. I thought it was good for the price (much better than expected from the concept), but it's not mind-blowing.
