I saw something about this recently. What's up with that?

    Per DNAInfo . . .

A family-owned trio of Mexican restaurants that operated on the same Ashland Avenue block for decades — all with the same name, La Pasadita — is now down to just one.

I went to La Pasadita today. Unfortunately they closed the location with the more expansive menu. The remaining location only serves tacos and burritos, and my carne asada taco tasted like a crumbling taco empire; few signs of the deep, grilled flavor in their meat.

I'll be going to Authentaco from here on out. Far better food (especially the quesadillas) for a marginally higher price. Hope that they get busier. I rarely see anyone in there.

Besides quality, which is a given, I've always believed in value over price. @ Authentaco, we're doing our best to deliver on both. Winter has been rough because of the seating situation. An enclosed heated patio should be in place by this wk. Better late than never.

Reports of La Pasadita's demise were seriously overstated. Well, either that or being able to focus on just one location enabled a comeback. Carne asada last night hit the spot.
