I don't know why, but it has been a while since I was excited about an Indian meal on Devon. It's just one try, so I'm not going to get
too excited yet, but today's lunch at Curry Bowl was solidly above average. Everything seemed fresh, and not overly heavy like a lot of Indian places tend to be. Spices were fresh and bold. The goat curry was fiery, though we did indicate we liked it spicy when we ordered. The Biryiani, despite having boneless lamb, was the best I have had in a while in Chicago. I hope they also offer bone-in. A favorite may have been the Mysore Masala Dosa. Very spicy as well, without asking, and 2 great sauce accompaniments.
It seemed strange to me that they have 2 menus, one for dine in and another for delivery. The prices were sometimes almost double on the delivery menu, but he told us portions were bigger. That said, the dine in prices were more than reasonable.
After just one visit, I'd like to hear what others opinions of this place are and I'll report back on my follow up visits too.
