I've lived in Des Plaines for quite awhile, Tasty has been a somewhat regular take out spot for us.

Last night Mrs Willie & I decided to dine in at Tasty. Place was busier than I've ever seen it before.

Maybe we just order our usual items when we take out but when looking at the menu, there are so many more items that I just wasn't paying attention to.

    We split:

Baby Clam Soup - julienne slices of ginger in a delicious broth with white wine, egg, cilantro. Clams, plenty of them, were not baby, the size of the shells were larger than Manila clams. This soup was so enjoyable.

Oyster Omelette - LOTS of oysters, chopped scallion. I would have liked the omelette cooked longer and also served with some hoisin but the chili sauce I asked for filled the void.

There were definitely some items I'll go back to try, like clay pot items & black pepper lamb chops.

It was quite fun seeing a new side to a restaurant that I felt I knew.

I did absolutely nothing and it was everything I thought it could be.

Thanks for the review, Sweet Willie. I drive place this place several times a week and have never thought to give it a try. This post has given me the nudge I need to at least take out from here.
