I challenged Mr. Pie to eat all the things he never ate and wanted to in this, his 50th year. One of things mentioned: the fried peanut butter and banana sandwich that killed Elvis. I insisted that SOMEONE in Chicago serves this, and he thought that was baloney. Does anyone know if this can be found? (Google gives me nothing.)

    Thanks!

I've seen a sandwich on Edzo's menu labeled as pb&b, not sure if that's peanut butter and banana's, and I have seen fried peanut butter sandwiches as both deep fried and done on a griddle like grilled cheese.

    Good luck in your search

Cafecito has an Elveez pressed sandwich with pb, guava jam and sweet plantains. Bad Apple has an "Elvis' Last Supper" pb & banana burger.

No, the Bad Apple burger doesn't have banana. It has bacon! It's pretty good.

Zaleski and Horvath (Z&H) cafe, late of Hyde Park, used to have a sandwich called the Snorky. An old MenuPages listing describes it as banana, peanut butter, and Guittard chocolate. Despite having it once, I have no memory of the chocolate, and only faint recollections of what type of bread it was on.

The successor to Z&H, True North, has a sandwich called the Fleegle with Nutella and banana on challah.

Not a sandwich, but it seems somehow appropriate to mention that the Fat Elvis at Hoosier Mama is really good.

Although, if he *really* wants to go out like Elvis, I feel like Walgreens should also be in the conversation.

Nope, it’s peanut butter and bacon. It’s also grilled, not fried. To bad WASC is no longer around.
