Not the
Worst or
Best Thing you've eaten lately. Simply boring, banal, uninteresting, mediocre, forgettable. Insipid yet inoffensive.
I'll start with lunch special from China Town Restaurant in Morton Grove. Small town 1980's decor, pricing, plating, preparation. $5.55 kung pao chicken with choice of white or fried rice, tea, water and small soup, add egg roll for .80c, which I did.
I've passed by many times, Richwell Market is across the street , and never once thought to stop, today was my "lucky" day. Table chili oil gave hope, as did the overtly grouchy server, but chili oil was run though a de-flavorizer and the grouchy wasn't shtick and soon lost its charm.
I forgot lunch by the time I was two blocks away.
