Anyone know if anything is up with Sabor in Schaumburg? I'm having my rehersal dinner there next thursday and we've been calling to confirm the details. They're usually closed on mondays so we swung by there tonight to see if we could talk to someone. They were closed and the people at the restaurant next store said they were closed on Tuesday as well. They seemed confused about it. The computers were on in the restaurant and everything seemed fine. Just closed. We're a bit worried right now. I thought I'd ask if anyone knew anything.

    Ben:

It doesn't look good; They were closed last Saturday night at 8:30 when we walked past. Same situation: computer was on, tables were set, but the lights were off. (No sign on the door telling anyone that they were closed for any reason.)

    Good luck.

Well they just sent my deposit back. Doesn't look good for the restaurant. I sure hope they're not out of business. It's my favorite restaurant.

    Langbenj,

Do you need help securing a place for Thursday? I had my RD at Brass 2 years ago and they were great despite the fact that they had only been open a few months.

Actually we have a meeting at Cab's Wine Bistro for Monday. We'll probably do it there. I like Brass quite a bit as well. It's not a bad idea.

Oh yes you missed alot. It was a amazingly good restaurant. Out of all the restaurants I've tried in chicago it was my favorite. The bonefish that opened up next to it was too much competition i guess :(

Does anyone have any idea where Sabor's talented chef/owner, Christina Hernandez, has landed? Is she at another area restaurant? Catering? Teaching? One hates to lose track of someone who can cook like that!

I see Cynthia posted a similar question over 10 days ago, but it was part of an old thread, and nobody replied.

I'd really like to find out where this talented chef went. Sabor was difficult for me to reach, but always worth the trip. Now that some family and health issues are in the past, I'd like to introduce my girlfriend to Christina's cuisine.
