Ice Dreams + Bobtail

I was at Bobtail last night (see nearby thread) and happened by Ice Dreams today, so I stopped in.

First, I remember the other flavor at Bobtail; we had Merlot/Chocolate Flake and Chocolate Bourbon. I remember liking the pleasant milk chocolatey flavor of the latter better than the first. Nice freshness, not overly sweet, unimpressive flavor.

Ice Dreams sells gelato, softer in texture with a much lower serving temperature, which I liked. They had maybe 8 dairy-based and 3 fruit sorbets. We had pistachio, which was nice, and mango sorbet, which was a little dilute in flavor, and a bit sweet, but nice as well. Mango is especially hard to make into a gelato, becuase what is intense while fresh seems to fade when pureed and frozen.

They also had a mint gelato that was the color of a blue Slurpee, which steered me away from it. I like gelato a lot, especially in terms of texture and temperature, and this was a good place for that. The flavor of those two didn't overwhelm me, but if I was in the area, I'd stop by.
