If I understand the city's smoking ordinance correctly, aren't all restaurants smoke free?

Some of the Greek Town restaurants I frequent--Greek Islands 200 S. Halstead & Parthenon 314 S. Halstead--I think both have bars, which may still allow smoking.

In both of them, the bars are pretty far removed from the dining areas.

Greek Islands--because of the large, cavernous nature of the place, has the most defined separation between the bar and restaurant.

I am pretty sensitive to smoke in restaurants, and I can say that I can't remember it ever being a problem in Greek Islands--and I haven't yet eaten there since the smoking ban went into effect.

The only smoke problem they have there comes from the saganaki!

If they've got a bar, you don't have to be smoke-free, basically. I'll let others go into more detail. That said, I've never noticed a whiff of cigarette smoke in the dining area of any greektown restaurant lately.

I'd say, go to Santorini and ask for one of the tables furthest from the (very small, and almost always empty) bar.

To pick a nit, and only in jest, Santorini can't meet the OP's "totally smoke free" demand due to the presence of the fireplace (though the warmer weather should preclude its use) and the charcoal grill in the open kitchen.

I must admit I've never found smoke to be a problem in any of the Greektown restaurants I frequent.
Objects in mirror appear to be losing.
