Chicago Prime Steakhouse - Schaumburg

I received a gift certificate for this place. Has anyone eaten here or heard anything about it? It looks nice based on their website, but you know how that goes.

I've heard it is good. I used to work with one of the owners, Stelio, at Gibson's. He was a floor manager there. I have never been, but I'm sure he took on some of the philosiphies of the Gibson's group.

I went there once about 1.5 years ago or so.

Place looks nice. Service is good.

We enjoyed the NY steaks. The lamb chops were dismal. Can't remember anything else. Never been motivated to go back.

Since then we've had better steaks at Harry Caray's and Keefer's. NY Prime has good steaks, but doesn't get as much of that outside char on a rare steak.

I'd say try to enjoy the gift certificate, but don't try to make it one of the best meals you ever had.
