Greetings fellow friends of the pronged instrument....
I am seeking recommendations for a special request.
This past week my father had transplant surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. He has recovered well enough that he was discharged yesterday and placed in a hotel on Walton near Michigan Ave. The hospital has agreements with various hotels for cases such as this. My father's condition does not require hospitalization but he will be seeing many doctors this week. Apparently the hospital has recognized a need such as his, patients live far from the city but have a need to visit the hospital on a frequent basis.
Enough rhetoric, my request.
I'd like recommendations of places to eat within easy walking distance of 201 E. Walton. What's easy? Well today the folks ventured to Cheesecake Factory and Pops had to stop several times to rest.
I don't want to get into the cab thing.
They do have a kitchenette in their room and I've provided them with groceries but if you were couped up for a week wouldn't you like to go outdoors and enjoy this fine weather?
I'll take recs for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The parents are both over 70 so we don't need huge food or fancy food. They'd love Corner Bakery but that's back over across from the hospital, too far to walk. Take out would be ok, since they have a kitchenette.
Thanks all and have a great weekend.
Go White Sox!!
Pops - You are deeply missed. There are many baskets of tortillas yet to share. I hope they have good menudo and carnitas in heaven!
