Had our anniversary dinner at Pluton's on Saturday evening and found it to be extraordinary. The small room accommodating ten tables is quiet and subdued with walls in beige muted tones accented by soft lighting and intimate seating. Service is highly personalized but unobtrusive. One may choose among four, five, seven, or nine courses. Our five course tasting was substantial and suplemented with an amusee and extra dessert. This included a hot and cold appetizer, fish entree, beef entree, and dessert. All were exquisitely presented on beautiful white dinnerware in various shapes and sizes. Our tour of the kitchen was super as Chef Pluton was in the house and greeted us warmly. Though opened just six months ago, this place is en route to four stars.

Hey, BigDar, would you mind sharing what you ate? No need, of course, but it's always cool to hear a bit more about the fancy places that I probably won't get to, especially when they just open.

    Cheers,

just wondering about the wine? we've heard reports that they have NO wines with the glass, and no program to match a wine to each course, so if you want more than one wine, you have to buy more than one bottle (which makes it an expensive proposition for 2 people)

    thanks

I'll be having the 7-course dinner at Pluton in two nights. I can't wait. Expect a full report.

Actually they do have wines by the glass. I prefer Pinot Noir and had one of two suggested by the waiter. By the time I ordered it, I was on the fish course which was grilled tuna. In addition, my appetizer was avocodo salad with goat cheese. I had two tasting entrees: veal and lamb. The dessert was a berry delight consisting of fresh strawberries baked in meringe with a dollop of vanilla ice cream on the side. The waiter also brought the house tarimisu which we did not order, but it was light and creamy. Finally, we were treated to a tray of miniature cookies and chocolates.
