this is the menu from the amazing and eccentric greenwich village restaurant called Shopsin's. calvin trillin has written about it and the wonderful documentary, 'i like killing flies' (still playing at 1pm only, saturday and sunday, november 18 and 19 at facets multimedia) is all about it. check it out, it'll make your head spin!

Thanks for posting, justjoan. I've read about this place in the New Yorker (probably a Trillin piece), but to see the full range of stuff (with many seemingly original concoctions) is remarkable.

unreal. i was hoping to see it in the movie, this is way better though to actually be able to study it instead of glance. caramel hearts and pine nuts in pancakes? or marshsmellow/nutella? nice. i'll have to lift a few of these combos for future use.

i'm going to see the movie again today, it was so much fun. kenny's menu blows my mind, but i have to say i was surprised at how high the prices are. i know it's new york, but still.... i cant digest it at one sitting, it needs studying.
