hmm, an interesting thought... but the article states it's in "Blackwood Station, N.C" ..google maps turns up no such place. nor does yahoo maps. nor does mapquest. how strange is that?

The article certainly gives the impression that they're referring to a separate town but I believe that Blackwood Station is just the name for the area where Allen & Son is located and that it's in Chapel Hill.
Allen & Son is a wonderful place.

Post #5 - February 2nd, 2007, 3:26 pmI believe Blackwood Station refers to their 2nd outpost in Pittsboro. I have not been to the Pittsboro location (as I used to live only 6 minutes from the Chapel Hill one), but there have been many reports of their cue lacking the same smoke flavor.
And according to this thread, the other location may be using gas as opposed to wood.
I actually quite enjoy their huspuppies, as they're of the sweet, onion-y variety. And my standard protocol was to ask for the pulled pork with extra burned bits.
