Yesterday morning my parents came up to Madison and took my wife and I out for brunch/lunch for her birthday. She choose the Eldorado Grill because they have brunch items and lunch items, my wife doesn't really like breakfast foods. We have been there before for dinner, which was excellent and were excited to try out the brunch menu.
Eldorado Grill is a tex-mex place and the brunch menu reflected that nicely. I ordered the Chilaquilas Con Huevos which is layers of cheese, tortillas, roasted zucchini, poblano peppers, onions and tomatoes baked and then topped with two fried eggs and salsa verde. It is served with black beans and American fried potatoes. Everything on the plate was really good. All items were seasoned nicely and nothing was overpowering. There potatoes were done really nicely, with lots of nice crispy edge pieces from the pan, and the beans were cooked really well also. I also ordered a side of grilled pit ham which was also delicious, but I thought the portion was kind of small for the price. It had nice grill lines and was also seasoned nicely. My Mom ordered the same dish as me and also enjoyed it.
My father got the Eldorado Benedict which has smoked salmon instead of a Canadian bacon, and a chile hollandise sauce. He liked his dish, but did not offer to share any, although I didn't offer to share any of mine either. My wife got the chicken enchiladas that she let me try a bite of and they were good also. She also ordered a blackberry margarita that she really enjoyed. They have a large selection of tequilas and are known for their fresh fruit margaritas. They also have a nice selection of vodkas.
I would go back again as the prices were good and the portions were more than enough. My only complaint is that they don't offer any sort of dessert or pastry on their brunch menu, I would have enjoyed something sweet to end the meal, maybe next time I'll get some pancakes for dessert.
Here is the menu if anyone would like to look at it:
