Some nice images -- and not just the food ones.

Went through a bunch of your shots--nicely done. I esp. appreciated the baby blue Fiat--what, maybe a 600? :^)

Would you mind telling us a little more about the culinary side of your trip?

The culinary side of the trip. Gosh, I wish that I would have posted about this sooner after I returned. Now my brain is foggy I am sure.

Of course, in Rome and Tuscany, the food was amazing. We had a fabulous meal every day.

Here are some highlights in the form of hyperlinks (good for daydreaming):

I had a squash blossoms and rice timbale with a goat cheese sauce--so amazing. I also had a deconstructed tiramisu that was creative and inspired, not to mention delicious!

My other favorite Tuscan eatery is:

It was not only the closest restaurant to our rental, but one of our favorite places too! The owner spoiled us with complimentary treats and kindness. Plus everything we order there was amazing--and we ate there for 4 meals. I ate a lot of "pici" there, which is a regional special--a variety of pasta.

Later, I will write about some charming wine bars and restaurants that we discovered in Rome--a few come to mind. To be continued...
