My husband Bob and a friend partook of the Iron Chef Dinner prepared by Michael Symon and his Lola crew on New Year's Eve. I know that many of you in LTH Land are fans of Chef Symon, so I thought I'd share.

Since it is a little cumbersome to post a lot of photos on this board, here is a teaser to get you to my Blog http://www.funplayingwithfood.blogspot.com or to EGullet, where our dinner companion and I also posted. http://forums.egullet.org/index.php?showtopic=61650&view=findpost&p=1513043

Here is my extraordinary Entree Course, Grilled Swordfish with Chorizo in a Tomato Broth (unfortunately, the Swordfish Collar mentioned on the advance menu proved not up to Chef Symon's standards, so it was omitted).

This dish was simply perfect. The creamy smoothness of the tomato-based sauce enhanced the amazing smoky flavors from both the house-made Chorizo and the Grilled Swordfish itself. I don't know how they infused the fish with such a rich smokiness.

Lola is a true gem of a restaurant. Happy New Year!

    Nancy,
Thanks for the link to the pix. Very nice. I've been fortunate enough to try a couple of Iron Chef's restaurants (Morimoto in Philly, Babbo (Mario Batali's flagship) in NYC), and it's good to see the level of food doesn't go down just because they're on TV ;^)
