What a great way to get a little of the experience without the full investment.

For those who don't know... at Guy Savoy in Vegas, they offer a "Bites and Bubbles" menu in the "bar" area where you can try "small" or "big" bites of some of the dishes (small bites really are just a bite, but they do come cheap).

There is a running joke that my hubby would be more thank happy to eat dollar hot dogs and hamburgers the entire time in Vegas (and I think we did end up eating hamburgers at least once a day) but I'd been looking forward to this trip, I happen to be pulling in some extra money lately, and my inner foodie was screaming for "an experience". And it was.
The "bar" is only bar-like in the "fireplace" and "bear" head hanging on the wall... ain't no taps in that bar! We got there about 6pm, were warmly greeted, and the first people in the bar, no waiting. There are about 4-6 small tables, by the time we left there were 4 other groups dining.

Hubby was worried since he didn't bring any "nice" clothes on this trip, but in jeans and Converse he was not made to feel out of place. And after very drunk old dude and his wife busted in and the guy went on and on about "feed my wife truffles! I love truffles!" we knew no one was looking at us as the people who shouldn't be there....

The idea is "small bites" which are pretty much tasting portions, or "big bites" which are closer to a full course. We each did three "small bites" for $30. Hubby had the Foie Gras en Terrine (which was a single slice of foie and the perfect size brioche to eat it with) while I had the Artichoke and Black Truffle Soup (about a shot glass worth, but still with the parm shaving and truffle shaving). Then, hubby had the Scallop with Parsley all around (single scallop, but declared by hubby to be damn worth ten bucks and the best scallop he's ever had in his life) and I did the Ravioli of Beef cheeks w/ Foie Gras “Velouté” (single raviloi in a fair amount of broth). They did also bring us bread... not the bread cart, but wonderful to have on hand so we could mop up the goodness on the plates and not resort to licking our plates....

For the last course, we both did the rabbit prep, which was different from the online menu a little... loin stuffed with foie and truffles, a shank and a kidney. By far, the best rabbit I have ever tasted in my life. Hubby said he'd happily go back and do the "big boy" portion of the rabbit.

One lady next to us got the "big bite" of the beef tartar and pommes Dauphine, which looked awesome. Two or three "big bites" between two people would also be a great idea, since the big bites can easily be shared between two.

So, three gin & tonics between us and three "bite" course each came to pennies over $100. Fine way to taste a master without going for the whole package. Service was as wonderful as I could expect.

They take reservations, but I think all but 1 table were walk ins (but, it was still early in the evening when we were there).

The printed menu is pretty much what they show online for it, but the menu out front had a few more things listed like a lobster soup and other things I don't recall.

We'd eaten a big lunch, so the small dinner was perfect. We happily did not find ourselves grabbing slices of pizza at 11pm. And at that time, I still had the essence of truffle lingering in my palate.
