thanks again to folks who provided suggestions for my recent adventure to Louisville. I ended up only eating out only once in an interesting fashion. I'd seen a note about Kaelin's on another site (forgive me for wandering off of LTH

) and it was pretty close to where we were. Kaelin's claims to be the originator of the cheeseburger and, while that claim can be disputed, I was very pleased with their version. I had bacon and pepperjack and my uncle went with the 3 cheese (american, swiss, and cheddar). Both were very nice sized burgers, cooked excellently. Toppings were lettuce, tomato, and mayonaise. The highlight for us were the fried pickles with ranch/horseradish dipping sauce. the sauce was outstanding (we're trying to replicate it for use at home) and the pickles were very nicely done, lightly battered and not over fried. Sorry that I don't have pictures.
