Suggestions for Portland OR

I will be in the Portland area May 7 - 15th. I'll be near the Columbia River Gorge for three nights then in Portland for a conference. I don't have days free, but would love some dinner recommendations from anyone who knows Portland. I also hope to add on a visit to Wilamette Valley wineries on the last day there, but we'll see. Thanks.

PS: I'm very active on the PNW Chowhound as extramsg and there's also http://www.portlandfood.org, which is sort of like my version of LTH Forum (though with only 230+ registerred memebers).

Feel free to ask me anything. I also have a standing offer to Chowhounders and LTHers to give culinary tours or try to get a meal organized with other foodies.

btw, I'll be in Mexico from May 11-23rd so if you did want a tour or get-together it would have to be before then.

I was in Portland last month, and on Extramsg's advice went to Ken's Bistro for lunch. Excellent, friendly place, with cookies fresh out of the oven at the end of the meal.

I also enjoyed a minor pig-out at Pix Patisserie, which is a great place to stop if you're into truffles and French pastries.

Lastly, I got a huge takeout container of chana masala and a mango lassi from one of the food trucks downtown. Can't remember the name, but it was vegetarian Indian. It was pretty good, especially for the price - but mainly I just enjoyed the novelty of the food truck.
