Took a road trip Chicago to Philly over the Columbus Day weekend. We had three memorable eats. Gio's BBQ (Rt 322 at Exit 123 of I-80-Woodland PA 814-857-7714) Wonderful rack of baby back -15.75 including two sides. Tender nearly fall off the bone with a nice chew. Not overly smoked and nice sauce. The pulled pork was really, really good-took home a pound-should have made it 5 pounds. had a philly cheesesteak at Ishabibble's 9337 Suth Street -betw. 3rd and 4th-215 923 4337. Had cheesesteak with provolone-I just can't do cheese whiz- and with the oinions it was flavorful. Nice bun. A lot of chicken cheesesteaks were ordered by the locals-all white meat. They are famous for their fires-good but nothing special. My girls loved the "Gremlin" a drink of grape and lemonade sodas. It is a small hole in the wall with counter seating for 10-very narrow. Very friendly folks. We visited lancaster County-Amish farms and ate dinner at Stolfhitz(sp) farm in Intercourse,Pa-near Bird in Hand, Pa. You eat in the house-turned restuarant and are served family style. Adults and $16 and kids are $8. All you can eat. Apple butter, apple sauce, greenbeans (really overcooked-could not tell if they were fresh or frozen, corn, whitebread, a ham loaf (a speciality but we were not fans), mashed potatoes mixed with bread (yuk) which they called stuffing. The highlight was the fried chicken and the desserts-we had cherry cobbler, carrot cake and a pumpkin roll all homemade. The places to eat are always packed-especially when the tour buses roll in.
What disease did cured ham actually have?
