Having now driven several times through West Virginia from Lexington, KY to Washington, D.C., I have passed countless road signs in WV touting Tudor's Biscuit World. They literally seem to be at evey exit on I-64. Finally, I stopped at one last week. The menu had a wide variety of biscuit sandwiches available, any combination you could think of was probably on the menu board. One that I had not thought of was a special: The Politician. Fried bologna, egg and cheese on a big ol biscuit. The sandwich was completely made to order with a freshly fried egg and a thick slice of fried bologna. It was terrific. Without question the best biscuit I've eaten at a fast food restaurant. I didnt end up with a picture of the sandwich but it was the closest approximation to the picture on the advertisement poster I think I've encountered. If you are ever driving through WV you could find a lot worse. And I mean that, the worse is there in spades.

Great stuff that has been documented on these pages, long ago. As good as it gets in the quick biscuit genre. Real country ham is a prominent option, for crissakes.

I lived in West Virginia for five years and I loved Tudor's Biscuit World. Especially the location in East Charleston that was open until 3am, after bar close There are sooo many variations on the biscuits it takes a while to decide, although I recall ordering the Dottie and the Thundering Herd quite often. I think if they just updated the concept a bit this could fit in any city because the food is pretty darn good. It will kill ya, but it is good. Definitely worth a stop, I think they have a few non-West Virginia locations but that is it. I miss this place, my West Virginia hot dogs and Gabriel Bros stores where I got many random college sweatshirts.
