Looking for something worthwhile in the Bourbonnais area suitable for a group of 10 with well-behaved 8 and 9 year old. Suggestions?

Here's my Kankakee report. Bleak stuff. Not too far away is the Bierstube in Peotone, which I liked. There are a few old-school supper club looking places around KKK/Bourbonais also, but I never tried them. Otherwise, chains are the norm.

Thanks, Jeff... I ran across this one in a search. I was hoping for some improvement, I guess. Doesn't look good for the visiting team.

We like the Bierstube in Peotone. It used to be Tobe's, which has its other restaurant in Cedar Lake, Indiana. I'm particularly fond of the schnitzel at the Bierstube, but my kids won't eat there anymore because of the "northwoods" decor left over from Tobe's -- especially the "wreath of squirrels" in the main dining room area. I've got to go get a picture of that and post it because it simply is not to be believed.

Good side dishes, too. Spaetzel and cabbage are delicious and a good selection of beer, which is what you would expect from a restaurant like this. You just wouldn't expect it to be in Peotone.
