    Hi,

A few weeks ago I found an intriguing very local community dinner opportunity in the vestibule of Tenuta's in Kenosha:

I was especially intrigued by promises of Kenosha Walleye and home-made mashed potatoes. The limit of 70 people made me nervous this could be a quickly sold out event. I placed my reservations once I got home and looked up the area code for Kenosha.

This invitation did keep its promise of walleye and home made mashed potatoes, though I hope they upgrade the vegetables next year:

On the tables were tartar sauce and lemons to season your fish.

Dessert was homemade pineapple upside down cake, sheet cake and Bundt cake with Cool Whip. As fussy as I may be about whipping cream, Cool Whip always reminds me of my Grandmother who always kept some in the freezer.

For $7.50, we had a nice dinner with a heaping portion of Americana.

    Regards,
