I was out in Vegas with some friends recently and while gambling at Mandalay Bay, we decided to take a break and grab drinks and a snack. Rum Jungle was recommended to us by the dealer so that's where we headed. Let me just get this out of the way, the service sucked and I do not recommend this place. We sat in a lounge area for 20 minutes waiting for a waitress to come by. The only reason it took 20 minutes and not longer was because one friend went up to the bar and asked for the waitress to come around. The entire time we were there, she came around twice...once to take our order and once to drop off the check.
To get to my point, we ordered drinks(weak)and a couple orders of calamari. The calamari itself was ok, nothing different than what you can find at any other place. But the sauce!!!! It wasn't your basic marinara by any stretch! I don't even know if the sauce was tomato-based. It was sweet, spicy, just plain DELICIOUS! Everyone at the table wholeheartedly agreed that this was the best calamari sauce they had ever had. One girl wanted to lick the plate clean.
I don't know if it was enough to offset the horrible service, but for 30 minutes of eating, we had a great "meal"
Has anyone else tried it?
