Lake Tahoe - Kings Beach area

Mr. Foodie and I will be visiting Lake Tahoe for valentines day in a few months. We will be staying in the Kings Beach area and are curious about the fare to be had there. Any dining recommendations for that area and/or activities aside from skiing/snowboarding?

Thanks RA. I reviewed your other recommendations for other posts, but was unable to find anything specific to the Kings Beach area. We'll eat anything - not picky at all. We'll be going with a group of other couples, so maybe a place that will accomodate 8-10 folks.

We will be in Tahoe for the week of Valentines day.... Wednesday 2/14 through Monday 2/19. Given this, perhaps a nice romantic spot the night of Valentines will be nice, that's not to far of a drive and is in a moderate price range, say $30 per person without drinks.

Also, any other places that are "not to be missed" (food and non food related) would be appreciated too, as this will be our first time in that area.

There's no "nice" restaurants in Kings Beach. There's great thin crust pizza at Peluso's-takeout only. Jason's, on the beach, has very good burgers and otherwise good bar food. If you need sushi, Hiro Sushi is okay, but I'd rather drive to Squaw Valley to Mamasake. I really like Spindleshank, in Tahoe Vista, 5 minutes away. It's your price range for dinner but has a log cabin feel, which may not be what you want for Valentine's. Otherwise, I'd head to Le Bistro or Big Water Grill in Incline Village, 10 minutes away. They are over your budget but the food is excellent with nice atmosphere.
