I'm going to Ottawa, Ontario for the weekend and haven't been able to find much about good places to eat there. I'm looking for places that are not too expensive and, hopefully, somewhat unique. Ethnic is o.k. given the lack of indigenous Canadian cuisine!

    Thanks!

I went to Ottawa/Gatineau a little less than two years ago.

    Here's my initial query:

Another query about the cheeses of Quebec:

    And my trip report:

There is, in fact, a restaurant serving native American cuisine.

    Sweetgrass Aborginal Bistro
    108 Murray Street
    Ottawa, Ontario

    Enjoy your trip!

Head to the Byward Market in Ottawa on a Saturday and see if you can still say that?

I spent a summer working at the National Gallery of Canada and lunched at ByWard Market all of the time. As Amata and others have said, it's definitely a highlight of Ottawa overall.
